MUI NE SAND DUNES MOTORBIKE TOUR

MUI NE SAND DUNES MOTORBIKE TOUR
Northeast of Phan Thiet the coastal road climbs over the slope of a Cham-Tower-topped hill and descends onto the long, sandy crescent of Mui Ne Bay. The formerly little-inhabited beach south of the fishing village of Mui Ne proper has seen some serious development in the last 15 years. Now it is a 15 km long strip of resorts that line up like pearls on Nguyen Dinh Chieu street, shaded by coconut palms. The famous Sand Dunes (Doi Cat), on the main coastal road a short distance north of the fishing town at the north end of Mui Ne bay, about 10 km from the main resort strip. The whole region is fairly sandy, with orange sand threatening to blow onto the coastal road in some spots. The dunes that visitors visit are about 50ha (1/2km²) of open sand on a hillside with ten-meter undulations, staffed by dusty children with plastic slides, who will offer instruction and assistance if you want to slide on the sand. Avoid these children at all costs. The plastic slides that they offer are simply an excuse to to steal your belongings when you are not looking. They will offer to carry your bag for you as you go sliding, then steal your phone of wallet, and there are so many boys that you wont be able to tell who did it. The dunes also offer nice views of the sea coast to the north.

This tour is best early in the morning to see the sunrise at the sand dunes, or late in the afternoon to watch the sunset.Saigon Motorbike To Mui Ne  The dunes may now be reached by motorbike, but we recommend taking a jeep tour so you can ride on the beach. Stop at the market in Mui Ne village to pick up supplies (food and drink). Make your next stop at the Red Sand Dunes. Stay for a few minutes to take some photos. After passing Hon Rom village, ride along the beach to the village of Binh Tien. Head over the hills to the White Sand Dunes. This is the highlight of any trip to Mui Ne. Get some pictures, slide down the dunes on plastic sleds, and then have a picnic lunch by the lake, under the pines. Head back, stopping at the Red Sand Canyon for an exploration. Back in Mui Ne Beach, make an optional stop at the Fairy Springs (you should visit the springs at some point during your stay), and follow the stream through the canyon to the small waterfall at the back. The walk should take 30-minutes to 1 hour. This whole tour should last all morning and halfway through the afternoon.

The Hai Van Pass crosses over a spur of the Truong Son (Annamite) Range that emerges from the west and juts into the East Sea, forming the Hai Van Peninsula and the adjoining Son Tra Island. The pass, which once formed the boundary between the kingdoms of Đại Việt and Champa, also forms a boundary between the climates of northern and southern Vietnam, sheltering the city of Da Nang from the “Chinese winds” that blow in from the northwest. During the winter months (November–March), for instance, weather on the north side of the pass might be wet and cold, while the south side might be warm and dry.

Hai Van Pass has been of major strategic importance in this history of Vietnam, and for a long time represented a major barrier to any land army that attempted to move between the northern and central regions of the country.

Hoi An Motorbike Tour to Hai Van Pass

During the 1st century A.D., the Chinese general Ma Yuan, after pacifying northern Vietnam, advanced south and established the southern border of the Han empire by setting up columns of bronze, possibly at Hải Vân. Ma Yuan also left behind some Chinese military families to hold the frontier. When the Han empire collapsed at the end of the 2nd century, the local kingdom of Linyi, the predecessor to the medieval polity of Champa, was created by a petty frontier bureaucrat of the Han administration, probably in the area of modern Hue somewhat to the north.

We start our ride from your hotel in Hoi An. We are  stopping at the Bang An Cham tower a 11th century building  as well as visiting historic American war sites on Bo Ho Hill aka Hilltop 55.  Then off over Hai Van Pass which means “Sea of Clouds” via the local hinterland through the green rice fields, you will be literally surrounded by clouds with stunning ocean views. Then head down for lunch on a floating local restaurant,  or you can chose a picnic at the waterfall with a relaxing swim. Then back to Hoi An via Sand-dune as well to see the Ocean without tourist, then ride onto Marble mountain where you can view some amazing caves.
